How to Find Us
We’re located about 1 mile south of the clubhouse on Rt. 32. Look for the big yellow sign or the two yellow diamond shaped signs on the left hand side of the road going south. Our gate is on the right hand side of Long Hill Road.
Trap
We have two trap ranges with two GMV Super Star machines. Both are equipped with voice release. The machines will throw singles, doubles and one machine has a wobble trap attachment. The trap fields are ATA registered.
Five Stand – click here for a sample 5-Stand presentation menu, 5 Stand Presentations
On Sundays we use one field for 5 Stand sporting clays. The setup consists of 5 different positions and 7 different machine locations plus a rabbit. The machines are controlled by wireless remote. Don’t be afraid to give it a try. Great practice for you bird (and rabbit) hunters !
Sundays 9-1 non-holiday weekends only: Trap (16 Yrd. singles) and 5 Stand
Thursdays 5 pm till dark (16 Yrd. singles) or doubles if you request it. Only one field is open on Thursdays'..
What You Need (and don’t need)
You do NOT need a fancy gun, nor do you need prior experience. You DO need to be safe, so if you are new to the sport, let one of our committee members know. We will happily walk you through the dos and don’ts. If you’re just breaking in a new gun that you are unfamiliar with, don’t be afraid to say so and let us help out for your safety and ours. For trap, all you’ll need is a single shot, unless you want to shoot doubles. For 5 stand you will need two shots. A low cost pump action will work just fine.
Feeding Your Shotguns
Only no. 7 1/2, 8, and 9 low brass target shells are permitted. Please clean up your shells after the round. Absolutely no pistol or rifle shooting is permitted due to the expensive equipment on the fields and no safe backstops (berms).
More On Busting Clays
The trap ranges were built in 2000 and 5 Stand was built in 2007. The machines are maintained by Claybusters. We are non-profit and are all members of Black Rock Fish & Game Club. All fees go back into maintenance of the ranges. Due to our location and the seasonal road, we are not open from October through March. The Claybusters meet the third Tuesday of the month at 7PM at the clubhouse. Come join us if you want to learn more and help out! Meetings start about 7 pm at the fieldhouse but contact the Claybusters Chair to double check.
